Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For August 2003

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 3,942.9 points at the end of August 2003, an increase of 240.5 points from the closing value at the end of July. The weighted index reached 249.59 points at the end of August, an increase of 10.52 points from the closing value at the end of July.

Volume of trading in August was 2,904,593,000 shares, a decrease of 5.48 % over the July volume. The value traded in August was KWD 1,007,790,340 a decrease of 1.35 % over the July trading value. There were 70,592 transactions in August, a decrease of 8.60 % over the July figure.

There were 108 listed companies at end August. The shares of 101 companies were traded in August. In August of the traded companies, 79 increased in price and 21 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end August was KWD 14,993,999.
