Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For August 2000

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1408.8 points at the end of August, an increase of 37.4 points from the closing value at the end of July.

Volume of trading in August was 592,650,000 shares, an increase of 78.17% over the July volume. The value traded in August was KWD117,948,850 an increase of 59.69% over the July trading value. There were 11,333 transactions in August, an increase of 11.51% over July.

There were 86 listed companies at end August. The shares of 77 companies were traded in August. In August of the traded companies, 32 increased in price, 39 decreased in price and 5 companies registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end August was KWD5,822,595,000.
