Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For April 2006

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 10,235 points at the end of April, an increase of 338.3 points from the closing value at the end of March. The weighted index reached 525.66 points at the end of April, an increase of 21.76 points from the closing value at the end of March.

Volume of trading in April was 3,906,935,500 shares, an increase of 22.8% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in April was KWD 1,659,803,040 an increase of 0.017% over the previous month's value. There were 150,120 transactions in April, an increase of 22.8% over the previous month's number of transactions.

160 companies were traded in April. Of the traded companies, 48 increased in price and 106 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end April was KWD 28,713,635,000.
