Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For April 2005

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 8,651.2, points at the end of April, an increase of 782.1 points from the closing value at the end of March. The weighted index reached 444.49 points at the end of April, an increase of 35.39 points from the closing value at the end of March.

Volume of trading in April was 5,058,989,000 shares, a decrease of 12.31% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in April was KWD 2,841,897,605 a decrease of 7.02% over the previous month's value. There were 184,026 transactions in April, an increase of 3.11% over the previous month's number of transactions.

136 companies were traded in April. Of the traded companies, 82 increased in price and 53 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end April was KWD 27,709,827,000.
