Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For April 2004

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 5,050 points at the end of April, an increase of 102.4 points from the closing value at the end of March. The weighted index reached 284.95 points at the end of April, a decrease of 5.15 points from the closing value at the end of March.

Volume of trading in April was 2,862,036,000 shares, an increase of 14.51% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in April was KWD 1,254,272,750 an increase of 1.25% over the previous month's value. There were 87,911 transactions in April, an increase of 1.22% over the previous month's number of transactions.

The shares of 111 companies were traded in April. Of the traded companies, 46 increased in price and 64 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end April was KWD 17,610,100,000.
