Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For April 2001

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1491.7 points at the end of April, an increase of 37.9 points from the closing value at the end of March.

Volume of trading in April was 1,170,400,000 shares, an increase of 14.33% over the March volume. The value traded in April was KWD245,742,030 an increase of 24.85% over the March trading value. There were 26,931 transactions in April, an increase of 9.06% over the March figure.

There were 86 listed companies at end April. The shares of 83 companies were traded in April. In April of the traded companies, 30 increased in price, 48 decreased in price and 5 companies registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end April was KWD6,910,618,000.
