The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 10,067 points at the end of December, a decrease of 105 points from the closing value at the end of the third quarter. The weighted index reached 531.71 points at the end of December, an increase of 8.88 points compared to the third quarter.
Volume of trading in the fourth quarter was 11,013,774,500 shares, an increase of 57% over the previous quarter's volume. The value traded in the fourth quarter was KWD 5,148,230,140 an increase of 75% over the previous quarter's value. There were 392,448 transactions in the fourth quarter, an increase of 33% over the previous quarter's number of transactions.
177 companies were traded in the fourth quarter. Of the traded companies, 93 increased in price and 84 decreased in price.
The market capitalisation of the exchange was 31,327,528,000.
