Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For 3rd Quarter 2004

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 6,064.6 points at the end of September, an increase of 608.9 points from the closing value at the end of the second quarter. The weighted index reached 317.19 points at the end of September, an increase of 23.82 points compared to the previous quarter.

Volume of trading in the third quarter was 8,129,564,000 shares, a decrease of 0.9% over the previous quarter's volume. The value traded in the third quarter was KWD 3,410,957,600 a decrease of 1.14% over the previous quarter's value. There were 245,807 transactions in the third quarter, a decrease of 4.41% over the previous quarter's number of transactions.

Of the 114 traded companies, 73 increased in price and 40 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange was KWD 19,027,304,000.
