Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report First Half 2005

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 8,811.3 points at the end of June, an increase of 2,401.8 points from the closing value at the end of 2004. The weighted index reached 452.98 points at the end of June, an increase of 117.12 points compared to the end 2004 value.

Volume of trading in the first half of 2005 was 22,919,688,000 shares, an increase of 24% since the end of 2004. The value traded in the first half of 2005 was KWD 12,635,803,080 an increase of 54.3% since the end of 2004. There were 822,000 transactions in the first half of 2005, an increase of 46.5% since the end of 2004.

Of the 147 listed companies, 147 were traded in the first half of 2005. Of the traded companies, 86 increased in price and 61 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange was KWD 25,855,603,000.
