The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 10,067 points at the end of the year, an increase of 65.1 points from the closing value at the end of June. The weighted index reached 531.71 points at the end of the year, an increase of 24.52 points from the closing value at the end of June.
Volume of trading in the second half of the year was 18,016,233 shares, a decrease of 8% over the volume traded in the second half of the previous year. The value traded in the second half of the year was KWD 8,088,632,890 a decrease of 12% over the value traded in the second half of the previous year. There were 686,015 transactions in the second half of the year, a decrease of 14% over the number of transactions in the second half of the previous year.
Of the 179 traded companies, 34 increased in price and 145 decreased in price.
The average market capitalisation of the exchange in the period was KWD 29,082,155,000.
