Kuwait Stock Exchange Fourth Quarter 2005 Trading Report

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 11,445.1 points at the end of the quarter, an increase of 1,211.8 points from the closing value at the end of the previous quarter. The weighted index reached 562.24 points at the end of the quarter, an increase of 50.3 points from the closing value at the end of the previous quarter.

Volume of trading in the quarter was 14,950,634,000 shares, an increase of 3.9% over the previous quarter's volume. The value traded in the quarter was KWD 8,579,205,745 an increase of 19% over the previous quarter's value. There were 621,738 transactions in the quarter, an increase of 21.4% over the previous quarter's number of transactions.

Of the 161 listed companies, 124 increased in price and 35 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at the end of the quarter was KWD 36,286,687,000.
