Kuwait Stock Exchange Fourth Quarter 2004 Trading Report

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 6,409.5 points at the end of the quarter, an increase of 344.4 points from the closing value at the end of the previous quarter. The weighted index reached 335.86 points at the end of the quarter, an increase of 18.67 points from the closing value at the end of the previous quarter.

Volume of trading in the quarter was 6,445,441,000 shares, a decrease of 14.56% over the previous quarter's volume. The value traded in the quarter was KWD 3,675,959,265 an increase of 7.76% over the previous quarter's value. There were 250,596 transactions in the quarter, an increase of 1.94% over the previous quarter's number of transactions.

Of the 127 listed companies, 127 companies were traded in the quarter. Of the traded companies, 77 increased in price and 48 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at the end of the quarter was KWD 2,120,852,782,000.
