Executive Chairman of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) said the focus of recommendations was to urge investors to invest based on real value of listed companies and not to be influenced by movements of indices in other markets.
"In line with these recommendations, investors should make independent analysis and judgement based on the many positive indicators of the Malaysian economy and the strong fundamentals of listed companies.
"This will lead to the discovery of attractive opportunities available on the Main Board, Second Board and the Mesdaq Market of the KLSE," he said.
Mohd Azlan said the call to invest based on fundamentals has been a major part of the effort by KLSE in promoting informed investing.
"Thus, the launching of KLSE Investors' Week 2002 from 23 to 29 September 2002 is timely in reminding the investing community to rely on fundamentals in making well-considered investment decisions," he said.
The KLSE Investors' Week 2002 is the largest to be organised by the exchange to date - with 50 informed investing briefings to be conducted covering various aspects of investments from equities to derivatives to syariah investments.
Over 40 company briefings will also be conducted by leading companies listed on the Main Board, Second Board and the Mesdaq Market of the KLSE during the week. Details and updates on KLSE Investors' Week 2002 are available on the KLSE web-site at www.klse.com.my.
Mohd Azlan said the overall effect of the National Budget 2003 is positive for the corporate sector.
"The overall effect is one that would certainly encourage greater participation in investment whilst improving investor confidence and positive sentiments in the Malaysian capital market," he said.
