Investors can use HTS programs developed by the Korea Exchange (KRX) member securities and derivatives companies for the trading of KOSPI 200 Futures on CME’s Globex from June 7, 2010. Currently investors are only allowed to use GTS, a HTS program specially designed for the KRX USG which connects KRX, its members and Globex system.
As HTS service offered by securities and derivatives companies is added to the list of available trading methods, investors can use all kind of methods available in regular trading hours in Korea including application program interface (API) and telephone for the trading of KOSPI 200 Futures on Globex. Accordingly, KRX expects this change would increase trading convenience for investors and thus boost the trading of KOSPI 200 Futures during night time trading.
As of today, 6 securities and derivatives companies (Daewoo Securities, Hyundai Securities, Tong Yang Securities, Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Seoul Branch, Woori Futures and Samsung Futures) are ready to provide the HTS service to customers. It is expected that the number of companies providing the service will be increased.
