KRX Holds Listing Conference In Shandong Province, China

The Korea Exchange (KRX) held a listing conference on June 24, 2014 in Jinan, the capital city of the Shandong province in China, to invite Chinese companies to the KRX market. 

For this listing conference, there has been very close collaboration between the KRX, which has implemented a campaign to attract blue chip foreign companies in order to further develop global exchange, and the Shandong Province government, which has made efforts to improve local financial infrastructure through overseas corporate financing. Mr. Guo Shuqing, former chairman of the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), has been promoting financial reforms as one of the most important tasks for Shandong Province to undertake at his new post since August of last year. 

Under the co-sponsorship of the KRX and the Shandong Province government, the listing conference was greatly successful, with more than 200 audience members, 150 individuals from Chinese companies and the provincial government, and the others from financial institutions. 

Mr. Kyungsoo Choi, Chairman&CEO of the KRX, spoke in his welcoming remarks of the competitiveness of the Korean capital market and the distinct advantages to the foreign companies gain from being listed with the KRX. In addition, he stressed that the listing of Chinese companies on the KRX market will encourage not only the growth of Chinese companies, but also the advancement of the Korean capital market itself. 

The KRX and participating Korean organizations presented a diverse body of information, including the merits of the IPOs in the Korean capital market and issues to be prepared for listing. 

Geared up from the successful conference, the KRX plans to continue its marketing activity together with investment banks for blue chip companies in Shandong Province and, through entering MOUs, will strengthen cooperative relationships with other provinces throughout China.
