Along with the changes in Kosdaq 50, 18 companies are also replaced in Kosdaq IT 50 and 95 companies in size indices.
These changes will be in effect as of September 13, 2002.
Companies to be included in Kosdaq 50 are as follows;
YOU EAL, AHNLAB, HANBIT SOFT, JUNGSOFT, Intelligent Digital Integrated Security, SEOUL Semiconductor, LG Micron, Motor & Technology, People and Telecommunication, Korea Electronic Banking Technology, Hyundai Digital Technology, Woo Ju Communication, YTN, Advanced Digital Chips, CJ Food System.
Companies to be excluded from Kosdaq 50 are as follows;
Ssang Young Information & Communication, POSDATA, Korea Telecom Hitel, CERATECH, NEOWIZ, Korea Information Engineering Services, DREAMLINE, VirtualTek, SEWON TELECOM, Cybertek Holdings, Jang Media Interactive, KOREALINK, Future Systems, E-Net, DAIWON C&A
Kosdaq 50 is a market capitalization weighted index comprising core 50 issues that represent Kosdaq Stock Market. The Kosdaq Index Committee reviews the Index every six months. In order to be included in Kosdaq 50, stocks should meet liquidity criteria and rank high in market capitalization as well. Options and futures based on Kosdaq 50 are currently traded in the Korea Futures Exchange.
The Kosdaq Stock Market was established in 1996 as South Korea's market for SME and venture firms. In this year 124 companies have been newly listed in the market.
