Korea Stock Exchange: The 2003 Corporate Governance Awards

On July 3, 2003, the KSE awarded the companies with the best standards of corporate governance in recognition for their efforts in enhancing the corporate governance and management transparency, thus promoting the self-regulation and shareholder participation.

The five companies received the best corporate governance award. They were Kookmin Bank, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, KT, KTF and LG Telecom. It should be noted that Samsung Electro-Mechanics received this award for 3 consecutive years.

At this Corporate Governance Awards, other 12 companies also took the awards for their good standards of corporate governance. They were Kyungdong City Gas, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Dacom, KT&G, KorAm Bank, POSCO and SK Telecom listed on the Korea Stock Exchange, and Tong Yang Systems, Logit Corporation, Auction, Korea Real Estate Investment Trust and LG Micron registered on the Kosdaq market.
