KOR Group LLC, a research, analysis and consulting firm dedicated to increasing transparency in financial services, today announced the launch of its Best Execution Accreditation. The program provides buy-side firms with an independent evaluation and an objective analysis of their adherence to best execution. KOR Group will help its clients identify opportunities to improve execution quality and reduce transaction costs and implementation shortfalls. KOR Group Best Execution Accreditation guarantees clients will comply with best execution regulation or it will refund any client fees paid.
KOR Group offers this new service to any buy-side firm. The company combines qualitative analysis of a client’s policies and procedures with quantitative analysis of order routing data and deep market structure expertise.
“The combination of quantitative order flow and venue analysis, together with qualitative analysis of a firm’s practices, independently verified and monitored provides a benchmark toward achieving best execution,” said Dave Lauer, president and managing partner, KOR Group. “As the first in the industry doing anything like this, we designed the Best Execution Accreditation to help firms stay ahead of the competition, reduce transaction costs and provide peace of mind to themselves and their investors that they are far exceeding best execution requirements.”
KOR Group’s Best Execution Accreditation offers two services:
Best Execution Review: A full review of order routing practices that includes onsite visits, interviews with personnel involved in order routing and portfolio management decisions and a comprehensive examination of policies, procedures, commission rates and other fees. It also includes quantitative analysis of order routing data, venue analysis in the context of individual trading strategies and a review of current TCA results. KOR Group delivers a detailed report discussing its findings and recommendations to improve shortcomings in processes or policies.
Best Execution Accreditation: This includes a qualitative review of order routing practices, policies, procedures, commission rates and other fees and a quantitative review of order-, trade- and market-level data, venue analysis and ongoing monitoring of execution quality and adherence. KOR Group will then deliver a report of its findings, work with the client to implement recommendations and continue to monitor and review to ensure regulatory compliance.
