The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) at its meeting on 9 February 2016 approved the change on the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange appointing Małgorzata Zaleska as President of the Management Board. The change on the Exchange Management Board is effective as of the date of delivery of the KNF decision to the Company.
The Extraordinary General Meeting of GPW appointed Małgorzata Zaleska as the company’s President on 12 January 2016.
Małgorzata Zaleska
She holds an MA from the Department of Finance and Statistics, Warsaw School of Economics (1993). She completed Postgraduate Studies in Administration, Faculty of Law, University of Warsaw (1996). She holds a PhD in economics (1997). She holds a postdoctoral degree in economic sciences (2000) and the title of professor of economic sciences (2004).
Małgorzata Zaleska is the Director of the Institute of Banking, Warsaw School of Economics; the Chairperson of the Committee of Finance Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences; a Member of the NBP Economic Research Committee; a Member of the Central Commission for Degrees in Finance. Her scientific and popular science achievements include more than 350 publications.
She is a former Advisor to the President of the Bank Guarantee Fund (1998-2003); Member of the Supervisory Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (2000-2002); Member of the Banking Supervision Commission (2007); President of the Bank Guarantee Fund (2007-2009); Member of the Board of the International Association of Deposit lnsurers (2008-2009); Chair of the Study Group European Forum of Deposit lnsurers (2008-2009); Member of the International Relations Committee at the European Central Bank (2009-2013); Member of the Economic and Financial Committee at the Council of the EU (2009-2015); Member of the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland (2009-2015), including supervision of the Foreign Department, the Department of Strategic Management and the Department of Communication and Promotion; Plenipotentiary of the NBP Management Board for the introduction of the euro in Poland (2013-2015); Chairperson of the Committee for Economic Studies of the National Bank of Poland (2014-2015).
