The objective of The Investor 2000 is to promote informed investing based more on fundamentals and less on speculation and market sentiments. The Investor 2000 is participated by public listed companies and stockbroking companies.
KLSE Deputy President I , Encik Md Nor Ahmad said the objective of The Investor 2000 is for KLSE, public listed companies and stockbroking companies to inform investors in a concerted manner.
"Whilst the objective is to expand informed investing, The Investor 2000 also provides a valuable opportunity for public listed companies and stockbroking companies in Sarawak to reach out even more to existing and potential investors at the Balai Maklumat BSKL, Kuching," he said.
Programmes planned for The Investor 2000 include exhibitions and informed investing briefings by public listed companies, informed investing talks by stockbroking companies and the KLSE and career talks for students. Participants at The Investor 2000 will also have the opportunity to discover the resources and facilities available at the Balai Maklumat BSKL in enhancing informed investing.
The Investor 2000 was first launched in April at the Balai Maklumat BSKL, Johor. The programme for Balai Maklumat BSKL, Kuching at Hock Lee Centre has been planned between 8 July 2000 until 19 August 2000, but will be extended with greater particpation from public listed companies and stockbroking companies.
Participating companies for The Investor 2000 at Balai Maklumat BSKL Kuching include Sugar Bun Services Bhd, Sarawak Enterprise Corporation Berhad, Quality Concrete Holdings Berhad, Hock Seng Lee Berhad, CCK Consolidated Berhad, Yun Kong Galvanising Industries Berhad, KKB Engineering Berhad and Sarawak Securities Sdn Bhd.
