In November 2008, SIX Swiss Exchange, SWX Europe and Scoach Switzerland Ltd. recorded a total turnover of CHF 108.2 billion, a 44.9 % decline versus the previous month. The total number of transactions for the month amounted to 3,408,037, representing a 36.9 % drop compared to the extremely high trading volume witnessed in October 2008. All share indices lost ground during the month, with the blue chip SMI® index closing out November at 5,816.6, a 5.47 % decline on a monthly basis. The broadly based SPI® ended 5.24 % lower at 4,780.3.
