Contango, the specialist derivatives consultancy, is delighted to announce a key addition to its burgeoning team of industry specialists with the arrival of Kevin Green, most recently, executive director at Santander as Director, Sales and Account Management.

Green has over 30 years experience in wholesale financial markets including fixed income, equities, repo and exchange traded and OTC derivatives across the asset classes. His vast knowledge of all aspects of the operational process chain including markets, technology, operations and providing facilities management services for a number of large global institutions adds considerably to the already strong Contango team of experts.

“I am delighted to be joining Contango at this exciting time,’’ said Green. “Companies in the derivatives space are facing a multitude of challenges. Not simply the competitive commercial pressures you would always expect, but also the increasing regulatory changes they need to respond to. Contango’s knowledge base and wealth of experience means that they operate at the very heart of the derivatives industry, that they can quickly understand specific challenges and provide appropriate solutions. I am pleased to be adding my knowledge and experience to broaden our reach even further.”

The addition of Green comes at a time when Contango is also strengthening its resources in terms of project managers and business analysts. “Our clients can now benefit not only from our virtually unrivalled derivatives domain knowledge,” says Contango’s Managing Director, Clive Furness, “but also from our ability to run major projects in the financial markets  using the experience of well qualified project managers with significant expertise in business change, continuous improvement and Lean Sigma methodology.”

Green joins Furness and  his team which includes many well known names from the derivatives industry including Richard Wilkinson, Director, Post Trade Solutions (previously Director - Clearing & Infrastructure Sales RBC),  Jonathan Cowan, Director, Technology Solutions (previously founder of Eccoware and Global Head of Futures & Options at BGC) and Brian Cooke, previously President & CEO, Rolfe & Nolan USA Inc.

The firm also recently announced a partnership with Kynetix, a specialist technology solutions provider.  The two firms are jointly committed to provide sound product development & technology solutions that will equip the derivatives market with the tools to tackle some of the more complex administrative & reporting challenges posed by EMIR.

Founded in 1999 by Furness, a former commodity trader and director of business/market development at both the LCE and LIFFE, the consultancy is already well known for a series of innovative product and business development projects for exchanges, brokerage firms, specialist IT vendors, market users and governmental institutions around the world.
