KCBT wheat futures volume was 20.3 percent of year-to-date 2003 volume through the end of July. Total exchange volume was ahead of 2003 year-to-date volume by a total of 11.4 percent at the end of July.
Open interest grew during the month of July in the wheat futures contract. Open interest as of July 30, 2004 was 27.3 percent more than at the end of June. Open interest exceeded the July 31, 2003 figure by 10.4 percent.
Additionally, wheat options open interest grew 24.8 percent when compared to the conclusion of June 2004 trade.
