The Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of November totaled 279,779 contracts for the exchange as a whole, an increase of .1 percent from the previous month’s tally of 279,507 contracts.
Hard red winter wheat futures volume amounted to 276,656 contracts, an increase of 3.9 percent compared to last month’s total of 266,231 contracts.
In other news, the KCBT announces its schedule for the Christmas and New Years holidays. On Wednesday, Dec. 24, wheat futures and wheat options will close at noon. Value Line and Value Line options will close at 12:15. There will be no overnight electronic trading sessions. On Dec. 25 there will be no daytime trading and no evening electronic trading. Trading for business date 12/26/2008 will begin with morning opening times listed under Friday, December 26. On Dec. 26, wheat futures open outcry and electronic will have regular trading hours (pre-open begins at 6:00 a.m.; trading from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.). Wheat options and Value Line will also have regular trading hours.
On Dec. 31 all contracts will trade regular hours. There will be no overnight sessions. There will be no daytime trading (open outcry or electronic) or evening electronic trading on Jan. 1. Trading for business date 1/2/2009 will begin with morning opening times listed under Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. On Jan. 2, wheat futures open outcry and electronic will have regular trading hours (pre-open begins at 6:00 a.m.; trading from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.). Wheat options and Value Line will also have regular trading hours.
