Kansas City Board of Trade Starts 1999 with Increased Volume

Volume traded in Kansas City Board of Trade contracts during the month of January topped both December 1998 and January 1998. Overall, exchange volume was at 151,934 contracts, a 4.6 percent increase over last January and 7.7 percent more than December 1998. The increase in volume is largely attributed to wheat futures which have been active in light of market conditions.
