Deeds, of C. Deeds, Inc., has been an exchange member since 1970. He served as first vice chairman of the KCBT in 2000 and as second vice chairman in 1999. The first vice chairman traditionally has assumed the chairmanship of the KCBT the following year. Deeds served as president and director of the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 1998 and on the BOT Investment Co. in 1995, 1996 and 1997. He served on the KCBT board of directors in 1976, 1977, 1987, 1988, 1996, 1997 and 1998.
Gregory F. Edelblute, Cereal Food Processors, Inc., has automatically advanced from the post of second vice chairman in 2000 to first vice chairman in 2001. Edelblute has been a member of the KCBT since 1975, and served as second vice president of the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 1999. He also has served three two-year terms on the exchange's board of directors.
John P. Crowe, an individual member, has been elected to the office of second vice chairman. Crowe has been a member of the KCBT since July 1993, and served as first vice president of the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 2000. Crowe also served as BOT Investment Co. president in 2000 and was on the exchange's board of directors in 1998 and 1999.
Exchange directors elected to two-year terms today include Scott Merrill, an individual member; Michael P. Simmons, an individual member; Randall O. Wallace, F.C. Stone, L.L.C.; Thomas G. Cernich, T.G. Cernich Corp.; L. Michael Mandl, Prudential Securities, Inc.; and Jack DiCapo, Hull Trading Co., L.L.C. They join the following directors serving the second year of two-year terms: Morgan Shay, Shay Grain Clearing Co., Inc., Michael L. Dean, Cargill, Inc.; Brenda J. Tripp, Rosenthal Collins Group, LLC; Jeffrey W. Voge, FIMAT Futures USA, Inc.; John J. David, individual member; and Gregory O'Brien, individual member. The new officers and directors will take office at the next regular board meeting, scheduled for January 30.
