Kansas City Board Of Trade Elects Officers, Directors For 2000

The membership of the Kansas City Board of Trade today has elected Daniel P. Maltby to the office of chairman for 2000. Maltby, of General Mills Operations, Inc., has been an exchange member since 1989. He served as first vice chairman of the KCBT in 1999 and as second vice chairman in 1998. Maltby served as president and director of the Kansas City Board of Trade Clearing Corp. in 1997, and as second vice president and director of the Clearing Corp. in 1996. He also served on the KCBT board of directors in 1997. The first vice chairman traditionally has assumed the chairmanship of the KCBT the following year. Craig N. Deeds, of C. Deeds, Inc. has automatically advanced from the post of second vice chairman in 1999 to first vice chairman in 2000. Deeds, a KCBT member since 1970, served as president and director of the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 1998, and on the Board of Trade Investment Co. in 1995, 1996 and 1997. He served on the KCBT board of directors in 1976, 1977, 1987, 1988, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Gregory F. Edelblute, Cereal Food Processors, Inc., has been elected to the office of second vice chairman. Edelblute has been a member of the KCBT since 1975, and served as second vice president of the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 1999. He also has served three two-year terms on the exchange's board of directors. Exchange directors elected to two-year terms today include Jay S. Lubowsky, individual member; Michael L. Dean, Cargill, Inc.; Brenda J. Tripp, Rosenthal Collins Group, LLC; Jeffrey W. Voge, FIMAT Futures USA, Inc.; John J. David, individual member; and Gregory O'Brien, individual member. They join the following directors serving the second year of two-year terms: James Greenwood, individual member; Glen E. Littleton, individual member; John H. Miller, Bartlett & Company; Frederick P. Sisser, individual member; Jeffrey J. Unger, REFCO, Inc.; and D. J. Warrington, ADM Milling Co. Michael Braude, president of the KCBT since 1984, remains in that position. The new officers and directors will take office at the next regular board meeting, scheduled for January 25.
