Kansas City Board Of Trade Announces Officers, Directors For 2010

The Kansas City Board of Trade announces 2010 officers and directors, who took office at a regular board meeting held yesterday. Members of the Kansas City Board of Trade elected Richard L. Mandl, Vice President - Investments, Global Commodities Group, Prudential Bache Commodities LLC, as chairman in an election held earlier this month. Mandl served as first vice chairman of the KCBT in 2009 and as second vice chairman in 2008. The first vice chairman traditionally has assumed the chairmanship of the KCBT in the following year.

Mandl became a member in 1982.  He served three terms as an exchange director, from 1993 to 1994, from 2003 to 2004, and in 2007.  He served in several capacities for the KCBT Clearing Corp.; from 1998 to 1999 he served as a director, in 2005 he served as secretary/treasurer, and in 2006 he served as vice president. He succeeds James W. Neville, Jr., as chairman of the exchange.

Michael P. Simmons, an individual member, has automatically advanced from the post of second vice chairman in 2009 to first vice chairman in 2010.Simmons became a member in 1995 and purchased his own membership in 1996.  He served one term as an exchange director, from 2001 to 2002, also serving as treasurer the first year of his term. He served as assistant treasurer in 2003. He served as a director of the BOT Investment Co. in 2007. He also served the KCBT Clearing Corp. in 2007 as the secretary/treasurer.

Steven K. Campbell, Vice President & Director North America Wheat Trading, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, has been elected as second vice chairman. Campbell first became a KCBT member in 1992.  He remained a member until 1994 and again became a member in 2006. He served as a director from 2007 to 2008.

The exchange also elected the following members to two-year terms on the board of directors: John M. Legg, individual member and David W. Gibson, Penson GHCO.

They join the following member directors serving the second year of two-year terms: Daniel P. Maltby, General Mills Operations, LLC; and Michael L. Dean, Cargill, Inc.
