Crowe noted that the exchange closed the year with its second-highest trading volume ever. Total exchange volume for 2003 amounted to 3,099,805 contracts which is second only to the record set the previous year, 2002.
Crowe also noted that exchange seat prices set an all time high in August 2003 at $95,000. The average seat price for the year was $78,500, up from $69,375 in 2002.
