Kansas City Board Of Trade Announces Expansion Of Electronic Trading Hours

The Kansas City Board of Trade will be expanding the time for electronic trading of its futures and options contracts by one hour effective Sunday night, October 9. Effectively, trading will start one hour earlier than the current schedule in all electronically traded contracts.

Following the change, the KCBT Hard Red Winter Wheat Futures contract will trade electronically from 6:32 p.m. CT to 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Friday. No Friday or Saturday evening sessions are held. No alteration will be made to open outcry trading hours.

The KCBT Hard Red Winter Wheat options contract will trade electronically from 6:34 p.m. CT to 6:00 a.m. CT. Sunday through Friday. No Friday or Saturday evening sessions are held. No alteration will be made to open outcry trading hours.

The KCBT Value Line‚ stock index futures contract will trade from 6:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. CT Sunday through Friday. No Friday or Saturday evening sessions are held.

The Value Line stock index options contract will trade from 6:17 p.m. CT through 3:15 p.m. CT Sunday through Friday. No Friday or Saturday evening sessions are held.

The change was made in response to an announcement made by the Chicago Board of Trade, the provider of the e-cbot‚ electronic trading platform, that system availability would be extended by an additional hour beginning October 9, 2005.
