June 2003 - Euronext Key Indicators - Share Trading Grows In First Half Of 2003 By Almost 17% Year-To-Date - Euronext.liffe Interest Rate Products Up 62% Year-To-Date

Cash products

Nearly 75 million transactions were registered on Euronext cash markets during the first half of 2003, showing an increase of more than 15% compared to the same period last year, with an average of almost 600,000 transactions daily. In June 2003, 13 million transactions registered on Euronext electronic central order book is up by more than 15% on June 2002.

Shares

Shares trading showed even more significantly growth, up by almost 17% on the first six months of the year compared to 2002, with a total of almost 70.5 million transactions. The amount of transactions in shares in June reached 12.3 million, up almost 17% year-on-year.

Trackers

Since January, more than 250,000 transactions in trackers, 2,000 on a daily average basis, show a significant increase of 85% compared to the first half of 2002.

Derivatives products

Euronext.liffe, the international derivatives business of Euronext, has traded 66.7 million futures and options contracts in June 2003, with an average daily volume of 3.2 million contracts.

For the first six months of 2003, Euronext.liffe has traded 354 million contracts.

Interest rate products continue to show the strongest growth, with 30.3 million contracts traded in June 2003, up 62% year-to-date. Euronext.liffe's Euribor futures and options contracts had their busiest month ever, trading 14.1 million and 7.2 million respectively, beating their previous records of 13.7 million in March 2003 and 6.7 million in May 2003.

Commodity products continue to grow with over 600,000 contracts traded in June 2003, up 26% year-to-date.
