The world’s leading “soft” commodity exchange, the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®), rang up sizeable trading volume numbers during July 2006 (2,867,235 total contracts), bringing the year-to-date [YTD]) total to 26,749,764 futures and options contracts, a 26% increase over the same period from 2005.
YTD category increases include: Total Ag Futures (up 19%), Currency Futures (up 28%), and Total Futures (up 20%); options increases are Ag Options (up 47%), Currency Options (up 14%), and Total Options (up 45%).
