July 2006 - Euronext Key Indicators: 15.1 Million Cash Transactions Completed In July, Up 44.5% Year-To-Date - Busiest July Ever - 18 IPOs On Euronext’s Markets In July 2006, 80 Since The Beginning Of The Year - Euronext.liffe Up 24% Year-To-Date

Cash products

15.1 million transactions have been completed on Euronext’s cash markets in July 2006, up 5.1% on July 2005, making this month the busiest July ever. In total, 131 million cash transactions have been registered since the beginning of the year – a record level at this time of the year, up 44.5% compared to the same period in 2005. This represents a daily average of 888,000.

Shares

14.4 million transactions were completed in shares in July, bringing the total number of transactions since the beginning of the year to more than 125 million, up 44.4% on 2005.

Initial Public Offerings

There were 18 more IPOs on all Euronext markets in July 2006 – a record level for July, bringing the total number of new listings since the beginning of the year to 80. Those 80 IPOs represent an additional market capitalization of EUR 45 billion, with a total amount of EUR 8.8 billion raised. Both the total number and value of new listings so far this year are at their highest since 2001.

NextTrack & NextWarrants

Since the beginning of 2006, year-on-year transactions were up 140% on NextTrack and up 66% on NextWarrants, which include

Derivatives products

Euronext.liffe, the international derivatives business of Euronext, traded a total of 439 million contracts in the first seven months of 2006, up 24% on the same period in 2005, representing an average daily volume of 2.9 million contracts. 52 million futures and options contracts were traded in July 2006, up 5% on the same month last year.

Short-term interest rate products traded over 29 million contracts during the month, up 29% on July 2005 and up 19% January to July.

Equity products traded over 19 million futures and options contracts in July, up 30% in the year-to-date.

Commodity Products traded over 1 million contracts, up 55% on July 2005 and up 13% January to July. Milling Wheat futures set a new daily volume record of 6,694 lots on Friday 21 July.
