Jukka Ruuska Elected Chairman Of NOREX

Following the signing of the new NOREX Co-operation Agreement on 7 April 2004, HEX Integrated Markets has now become a shareholder in Nordic Exchanges A/S.

Oslo Børs and Copenhagen Stock Exchange have both sold 9% of their shareholding to HEX Integrated Markets, and the share distribution in the company is the following:

  • HEX Integrated Markets: 50% (including the shares formerly owned by Stockholmsbörsen)
  • Oslo Børs: 23%
  • Copenhagen Stock Exchange: 23%
  • Iceland Stock Exchange: 4%

At an extraordinary general meeting of Nordic Exchanges A/S today, Jukka Ruuska was elected to the Board of Nordic Exchanges A/S (NOREX) together with Jouni Torasvirta, Managing director of Helsinki Exchanges, Henrik Paulsson, Acting President of Stockholmsbörsen and Gert Tiivas, Head of Baltic Operations.

Apart from the above mentioned, the Board consists of the following persons:

  • Thordur Fridjonsson, President & CEO of Iceland Stock Exchange, Vice Chairman
  • Sven Arild Andersen, President & CEO of Oslo Børs
  • Hans-Ole Jochumsen, President & CEO of Copenhagen Stock Exchange

  • Poul Erik Skaanning-Jørgensen, Senior Vice President of Copenhagen Stock Exchange
