JPX: Trading Overview In August 2016

Japan Exchange Group released Trading Overview in August 2016.

Cash Equity Market

- In August 2016, the daily average trading value for the TSE 1st Section (domestic common stocks) was JPY 2.3319 trillion.
- In the ETF market, monthly trading value was JPY 3.5975 trillion.

Derivatives Market

- In August 2016, total derivatives trading volume was 21,055,723 contracts.
- Total derivatives trading value was JPY 144 trillion, and trading value for equity index derivatives reached JPY 65 trillion.
- Monthly trading volume for the night session was 6,469,367 contracts and the ratio of the night session was 30.7%, exceeding 30% for the sixteenth consecutive month.
