Jomed N.V. In SPI From 20 June 2000

As of 1 September 1999, companies which are domiciled in a foreign country may also be included in the Swiss Performance Index (SPI). However, in order for the shares of such a foreign-domiciled company to be included in the SPI, the following criteria must be met: The quotation and pricing of the shares must take place on the SWX Swiss Exchange.

At least a part of the company's production / value-adding activities must be conducted in Switzerland The legal or operational headquarters of the company must be located in Switzerland

This regulation is to be viewed as an exceptional provision, the application of which will be ruled upon by the Index Commission in each specific case that may arise.

The Index Commission has decided that Jomed N.V. shall, within the scope of this exceptional provision, be added to the SPI as of 20 June 2000.

Jomed N.V. will be included in the SPI "Middle" and "Misc. Industrials" subindices.
