Joint Statement Of CBOT And CBOE

Chicago Board of Trade Chairman David P. Brennan and Chicago Board Options Exchange Chairman William J. Brodsky yesterday issued the following joint statement: "Our two great exchanges have agreed to meet to further discuss opportunities that may exist to bring our institutions closer together and maximize any synergies for our respective memberships, market users and the city of Chicago. Leaders and investment bankers from both exchanges will begin meeting as soon as possible so that we may begin to assess the viability, within a reasonable time period, of a merger of the CBOT and CBOE."
