U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin met with Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond of the United Kingdom (U.K.).
During their meeting, the Secretary and the Chancellor underscored the importance of the U.S.-U.K. Special Relationship. The Secretary and Chancellor discussed the Secretary’s priorities, including tax and regulatory reform. They also discussed the importance of the U.K. and the European Union working constructively on a path forward as negotiations begin for the U.K. to exit the European Union.
The Secretary and Chancellor emphasized the importance of the continued U.S.-U.K. partnership and our desire to work closely together, including through institutions like the G-20 and G-7, on international issues, such as promoting growth and jobs and countering the financing of terrorism.
