John Millar Joins London Stock Exchange Group As Head Of Primary Markets

London Stock Exchange Group announced today that John Millar will be joining the Group as Head of Primary Markets. He will be based in London and report to Raffaele Jerusalmi, Director of Capital Markets and CEO of Borsa Italiana, and Alexander Justham, CEO of LSE Plc.

In this role, John will be responsible for leading the Primary Markets business, focusing on IPO origination globally, working closely with the Milan, London and NY based teams.

Raffaele Jerusalmi, Director of Capital Markets and CEO Borsa Italiana, said “John brings deep global experience in equity capital markets, having managed more than 300 transactions during his career. We look forward to welcoming him to the Group.”

John joins us from Espirito Santo Investment Bank where he was a Managing Director co-ordinating the investment banking and capital markets teams in London. John brings more than 25 years of experience in capital markets to the Group, raising over $240 billion across a wide range of countries and sectors. Prior to working at Espirito Santo, John was a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets at Citigroup and Managing Director in Corporate Finance and Equity Capital Markets at Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1990, he worked in corporate finance for Kidder, Peabody & Co. He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.S. with honours from the University of Virginia.
