Jeronimo Martins And Inditex Stocks To Be Listed On GlobalConnect

  • Stocks of Jeronimo Martins, the owner of the retail chain brand Biedronka, and Inditex, the owner of popular clothing brands such as Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, will be newly listed on GPW’s foreign stock market GlobalConnect on 18 April 2023
  • The stocks will be introduced to trading on GlobalConnect at the request of the Introducing Market Maker, Santander Biuro Maklerskie

 

 

At the request of the Introducing Market Maker, Santander Biuro Maklerskie, two companies will be newly listed on GlobalConnect on 18 April 2023: Jeronimo Martins, the Portuguese owner of the retail chain Biedronka, among others, and Inditex, the Spanish clothing holding which owns popular brands such as Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, and Zara Home. The newly listed stocks participate in the stock market index STOXX Europe 600 Index (SXXP). Financial Instrument Sheets for Jeronimo Martins and Inditex stocks will be available on the GlobalConnect website: https://gpwglobalconnect.pl/Financial-Instrument-Card.

The stocks of five German companies: Allianz, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Siemens, and Volkswagen are already available for trading in the pilot stage of GlobalConnect. The offering is expected to be gradually expanded. Selected US stocks may be added at a later stage. The extent and pace of the expansion of the GlobalConnect offering depends on investor interest and the readiness of the Introducing Market Makers.

GlobalConnect is GPW’s new market launched in November 2022. The market lists stocks introduced to trading by an Introducing Market Maker without the issuer’s consent. The new market allows investors on GPW to buy and sell shares of the largest and best-known foreign companies. At this time, Santander Biuro Maklerskie is the only Introducing Market Maker to introduce foreign stocks on GlobalConnect.

The new market operates in GPW’s Alternative Trading System (ATS). Trading takes place during the trading session on GPW, Monday to Friday between 09:05 and 17:05. Foreign stocks are quoted in Polish zloty. The stocks to be listed on GlobalConnect are selected by Introducing Market Makers. Introducing Market Makers are also responsible for ensuring liquidity of the introduced stocks.

Investors can place orders using an existing or new account with a domestic brokerage firm that is connected to GlobalConnect. The fees charged to Exchange Members operating on GlobalConnect are identical to those charged on the GPW Main Market. Holders of shares listed on GlobalConnect are entitled to benefits such as dividends.
