Japan's Financial Services Agency: Decision To Establish The IFIAR Permanent Secretariat In Tokyo

At the Plenary meeting of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) in London from April 19^th to 21^st, it was decided that the IFIAR permanent secretariat will be established in Tokyo.The Financial Services Agency (FSA) and the Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB) took a variety of steps to host the permanent secretariat in Tokyo. We would like to thank the relevant entities/people who have cooperated with us and supported us so far.

IFIAR aims to open its permanent secretariat in April 2017. The FSA and CPAAOB will do its utmost to support IFIAR for the smooth start-up of the permanent secretariat, and will also continue to contribute to its activities.

(Note) IFIAR was established in September 2006 for the purpose of coordination and cooperation in audit oversight. It is comprised of 51 jurisdictions responsible for audit oversight, and the FSA and CPAAOB are the members from Japan
