Japan Exchange Group released Trading Overview in January 2015.

Cash Equity Market

- In January 2015, daily average trading value for the TSE 1st Section was JPY 2.5049 trillion, exceeding JPY 2.5 trillion for the fourth consecutive month.
- In the ETF market, trading value was JPY 3.9599 trillion, as the market continued to remain strong.
- In the REIT market, trading value was JPY 980 billion, exceeding JPY 900 billion for the second consecutive month. The TSE REIT Index also momentarily reached a 7-year high of 1,990.45 points.

Derivatives Market

- In January 2015, trading volume in the derivatives market reached a total of 29,366,879 contracts, with a daily average of 1,545,625 contracts (monthly change -2.9%, yearly change +9.0%).
- Trading volume for the night session was 11,533,209 contracts. The ratio of the night session reached 39.3%, an all-time high.
- For DJIA futures, trading volume in January was 10,056 contracts, the second-highest on record.
- For mini 10-year JGB futures, trading volume was 7,055 contracts, the second-highest on record.

The cash equity market is operated by TSE, while the derivatives market is operated by OSE.
