January Statistics Report From The NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchanges

  • January saw a record in number of trades for the share trading at the Stockholm Stock Exchange. On January 28, the number of trades amounted to 262,064 (previous record: 235,480 trades on January 22, 2008).

Share Trading in January

The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 2.7 billion, as compared to EUR 2.3 billion during the past 12-month period. The average number of trades per business day amounted to 287,106, as compared to 219,689 during the past 12-month period. The total market cap of listed companies at NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange amounted to EUR 641 billion, compared to EUR 415 billion in January 2009.

Derivatives Trading

The average daily trading volume in derivative products amounted to 528,927 contracts, as compared to 407,728 contracts during the past 12-month period. The average daily trading volume in share products was 262,671 contracts, as compared to 190,173 contracts during the past 12 month period. The average daily trading volume in index products was 192,329 contracts, compared to 133,697 contracts during the past 12-month period. Fixed-income derivatives traded 73,927 contracts, compared to 83,859 contracts during the past 12-month period.
