"ISE is dedicated to modernizing the index options market and changing the dynamics of index trading to improve the experience customers have when trading index products. Our sector index options, which are the first wave of products that we will introduce into the market, represent our commitment to providing investors with the very best products, and in many cases truly new and innovative products, to help them better navigate the market. ISE is committed to delivering to index options trading the same benefits as we have for equity options trading: tight spreads, deep liquidity, lower fees and the execution efficiencies inherent in a fully-automated marketplace," said Bruce D. Goldberg, ISE's Chief Marketing Officer.
ISE's index methodologies for the sector indexes are rules-based, making the rules for calculating and maintaining the indexes freely available to everyone, and thus easily used to test the historic performance of the indexes.
