Listings & Volume Growth

ISE's product list has grown to 469 issues, including recent additions Dow Chemical, Sony, Lucent Technology and Nortel Networks. Trading in these 469 names across all five options exchanges represents 87% of the total industry volume in listed equity options; ISE was the volume leader in 108 (23%) of its issues. The current list of issues traded is always available on our web site (www.iseoptions.com) within the section entitled "Product Information." ISE intends to list the top equity options representing approximately 90% of the U.S equity options market by volume.

ISE's average daily volume during January was 537,932 contracts, an increase of 41% from October's (3 months prior) average volume of 380,299 contracts and an increase of 86% from July's (6 months prior) average volume of 289,376 contracts.

ISE established new daily volume records on four occasions during the month; the highest volume day was January 30, when 821,115 contracts were traded. The strong growth pattern that ISE continues to experience is testament to the benefits of ISE's unparalleled market structure and trading system.

Solidifying its position as the third largest U.S. options exchange, ISE's market share in its listed products averaged 19.5% for the month, while its market share in all listed options averaged 15.7%. This compares to 8.2% and 3.2%, respectively, for January 2001.
