ISE has licensed two ETFs, iShares NYSE Composite Index Fund (NYC) and iShares NYSE 100 Index Fund (NY).
The products represent an expansion of ISE's commitment to its ETF options business. The options on the ETFs were allocated to Timber Hill LLC, a unit of Interactive Brokers LLC. They began trading Wednesday, September 22nd on a January expiration cycle with exercise and position limits of 13,500.
“ISE is pleased to expand its roster of options on ETFs due to this agreement with the NYSE. ISE remains committed to bringing the same efficiencies to trading portfolios of securities, such as ETFs, as it has brought to equity options,” said Bruce D. Goldberg, ISE's Senior Vice President, Marketing.
“We welcome the expansion of trading products that are benchmarked against NYSE indexes,” said Robert McSweeney, NYSE Senior Vice President, Competitive Position. “The quality of our listed companies and the liquidity of our marketplace enable us to provide investors with NYSE indexes for performance benchmarks and diversified investing.”
The International Securities Exchange, the world's largest equity options exchange, was founded on the principle that technology fosters and infuses new efficiencies and operational innovations into securities trading. After developing an innovative market structure that integrated auction market principles into an advanced screen-based trading system, ISE launched the first fully electronic US options exchange in May 2000. ISE continually enhances its trading systems to provide investors with the best marketplace to execute their options orders.
