Irish Stock Exchange: Government Of The Sultanate Of Oman Lists Its Largest Ever Issuance On The MSM

The Government of the Sultanate of Oman has listed its largest ever debt capital markets issuance of US$5bn on the Main Securities Market (MSM) of the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE).

The listing is a triple tranche offering consisting of US$2bn 3.875% notes due 2022, US$2bn 5.375% notes due 2027 and US$2bn 6.5% notes due 2047. International law firm Clifford Chance acted as English law counsel to the Sultanate.

Other Omani issuers on ISE markets

The Sultanate joins other issuers from Oman with securities listed on the ISE including Bank Dhofar, The National Bank of Oman and Bank Muscat and follows a total of US$4.5 billion bond and sukuk offerings by the Sultanate issued in 2016.

The ISE is among the leading centres globally for listing bonds, with debt listings growing by 7% in 2016 to reach over 29,000 securities. The ISE offers two markets for listing bonds, the Global Exchange Market (GEM) and the Main Securities Market (MSM).
