Irish Stock Exchange Admits J.P. Morgan As A Primary Dealer Member Firm

Date 12/06/2009

The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) has admitted J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. (“J.P. Morgan”) as a member firm of the ISE. J.P. Morgan will operate as a Primary Dealer in Irish Government bonds. This brings to 11 the number of Primary Dealers which are member firms of the Exchange. The role of a Primary Dealer is to continuously make two way markets in Irish Government bonds and to participate in competitive auctions organised by the National Treasury Management Agency.

Commenting on their membership of the ISE as a Primary Dealer, Carl Norrey, European Head of Rates Securities at J.P. Morgan, said: "The addition of Ireland to our existing suite of primary dealers within the Eurozone continues to enhance the firm’s footprint as an all-round service provider to our investor and borrower clients alike.”

Brian Healy, Director of Traded Markets, Development, Operations at the ISE said “We are delighted to welcome J.P. Morgan as a new Primary Dealer in Irish Government bonds. The direct participation by J.P. Morgan in this market, given the strength of its fixed income business globally, is a positive development for both the National Treasury Management Agency and the ISE. It highlights the continued international interest in the market for Irish Government bonds as well as the Exchange’s success in expanding its membership base.”
