IPE Restructures Business Development Division

Date 22/05/2000

The IPE has restructured its Business Development Division into a more efficient, flexible organisation, capable of meeting the challenges of rapidly changing and dynamic energy markets. The new structure will provide both greater market focus and significant improvements in project management capability. The new market focus is particularly relevant in Utility (Gas and Electricity) markets, where the IPE will shortly be announcing details of new contracts. Six new units now report directly to Stephen Gutteridge, Business Development Director. These are:

Jackie Bullimore, Head, Oil Markets; Isabella Kurek-Smith, Head, Utility Markets; Stuart Wood, Head, E-Commerce; Avril Watson, Head, Technology Development; Jane Davison, Head, Project Management; David Ford, Head, Market Services.

As a result of the above changes Trevor Christmas, SVP Marketing, and Nick Aldridge, VP Product Development and Research, will both be leaving the Exchange.

Richard Ward, CEO said "Both Trevor and Nick have made significant contributions to the development of the IPE. We wish them well for the future".

The restructuring has enabled Business Development to cut its operating costs significantly, ensuring that the IPE remains highly competitive. One aspect of the changes is that the IPE will in future manage all of its global marketing and client management from London. Staff currently based in New York will become part of the new Oil Markets team operating in London.

Stephen Gutteridge, Business Development Director said, "we operate in a fast-moving world, with new opportunities and competitive threats emerging all the time. Our new organisation will enable us to respond quickly and flexibly to these, whilst retaining our focus on key markets such as Oil, Utilities and E-Commerce. We shall now move ahead with our plans for new products and initiatives".
