IOSCO’s World Investor Week (WIW) is a week-long global campaign to raise awareness of the importance of investor education and protection, and to highlight the various initiatives of securities regulators in these two critical areas.
Kicking off on 6 October 2025, and with the support of the G20 Presidency, WIW2025 brings together organizations from over 100 jurisdictions to drive awareness around trending issues which impact investors around the world.
This year’s main themes include Digital Finance and Crypto Assets, the impact of new Technologies and AI, prevention from Fraud & Scam and the Basics of Investing. They align with IOSCO’s Roadmap for Retail Investor Online Safety.
“In today´s fast-paced markets, technology is transforming how people invest. For students and young investors, digital platforms are now often the gateway into the world of investing, and very convenient. But convenience is not enough. Smart investors stick to the basics: doing careful research, staying diversified, and being prepared for unexpected events.” - IOSCO Board Chair Jean-Paul Servais, who also serves as Chair of the Belgium Financial Services & Markets Authority
Mr Camille Beaudoin, Director, Financial Education Expertise and Partnerships, AMF Québec and Chair of IOSCO’s Committee leading this year’s campaign, added:
“Where scams are concerned, relationship investment scams in particular are estimated to have caused people to lose tens of billions of dollars globally. WIW 2025’s anti-fraud relationship investment scams campaign, made possible by the support of many well-established organisations around the globe, aims to inform investors about the warning signs of these scams and help empower them with information to protect themselves.”
As in previous years, WIW2025 will be supported by a number of partner organizations including the Financial Standards Planning Board’s (FSPB) bespoke ‘World Financial Planning Day’ (October 8) and the World Federation of Exchanges who encourage members to ‘Ring the Bell’ for WIW2025.
